Barbara & Henning
A Tale of Two Cultures

Pinoys are known to have countless wedding traditions, but Barbara and Henning's elegant wedding managed to make new traditions, and also adding foreign ones, too.
Instead of having the traditional bouquet toss, Barbara opted to give her bouquet to her mom as a way of saying thank you. Moreover, the ubiquitous wedding souvenirs--a must in Pinoy weddings--were replaced with donations on behalf of the guests. The couple decided to help out the day care center in the area where Barbara grew up.
While Barbara and Henning got married in the Philippines, that didn't stop the groom from incorporating Norwegian practices in the celebration as well. During the reception, Henning's father led the Norwegian toast or sk?l. A merry drinking session capped off the evening.
