You know what makes for a great foodie companion? The Gourmet
Gypsy and the Chef Rabbi! Together, they are a savory combination to
look out for with your Taste Buddies.
Hosts Solenn Heussaff and Iya Villania,
together with Kapuso Actress Max Collins, witness how the masters of the
kitchen whip up their house specialties in two of the coziest places to dine
along Chino Roces Avenue.
At Gourmet Gypsy, owner Chef Waya Araos makes sure
that the ambiance of her art café--- with interiors that are decorated with her
family’s very own travel memorabilia and furniture crafted by her father---
relaxes her customers, which is indeed perfect to pair with her offering of
organic and refreshing world fusion cuisine. This includes: hefty servings of Spinach
Foccacia, Elote Mexicano, Vietnamese Affogato, Indian Buttered Chicken and Tropical
Shrimp Salad just to name a few.
Meanwhile, teacher and chef Dennis Mallapre is the real Chef
Rabbi, which is also the catchy name of his restaurant that boasts
home-cooked Filipino food like Pinangat na Alimasag, Bulalo with lemongrass,
Crispy Panga, Bicol Express and Turon with Langka and Cinnamon, among the
many delicious others.
In the kitchen, Iya discovers a clever life hack to cut the
tomatoes the “ninja way,” while Solenn shares a handy-tip that can re-purpose
old scarves into belts and watch and sandals straps.
As the three girls make their way for a fine food crawl
along Roces Avenue, Saab Magalona indulges with some ribs and steaks at Red
Baron along D. Tuazon in Banawe, Quezon City. There, there’s no
shortage of Volcanic Bacon Mushroom Melt Burgers, Rib Eye Steaks and so much
more of American cuisine.
Join the fresh, fun and fab adventures of Solenn, Iya, Max
and Saab this February 28 on Taste Buddies on GMA News TV, 8:45 p.m.
