Of Simple Acts and Grand Gestures

While most people pull out all the stops on Valentine's Day and present their beloved with the biggest bouquet they can ever find, Peter instead gave then-girlfriend Jeanne a lone flower for the occasion. The seemingly simple act turned out to be the precursor of one grand gesture.
That Valentine's Day, Peter fetched Jeanne from the office. Jeanne usually received a dozen flowers on special occasions, but oddly, Peter presented Jeanne with one peach tulip. He claimed that the bloom was very unique, and he asked Jeanne to look inside the petals. Intrigued, Jean finally looked at the tulip's center--she was surprised to find an engagement ring! Peter popped the question, making that Valentine's Day the most memorable one for the couple--and Jeanne didn't even need a large bouquet to mark the momentous event.
