Wanderlust: Commune Makati

Unlike most of the overrated cafes out there which are pretty much crowded and noisy, Commune in Makati has this relaxing vibe in the heart of the metro. The artworks are eye-catching-- the wonderful chalk art and the informative sketches are all set to grab your attention and tickle your imagination. The little cafe also makes coming together an even more special and intimate session, be it with friends or family.

Aside from their signature cafes (which I heard, are served with painstaking coffee art upon request), customers look forward to taste their mouth-watering Pinoy best sellers like adobo and sinigang. Their cup of rice is even wrapped in a banana leaf.

I had gone unplanned to Commune on a Thursday. I had to meet a friend in Eastwood that day. And she and her team were all set to their weekly coverage of SPIT at the resto. Perfect timing! I had to tag myself along, may be much to their dismay. I've been planning to visit the cafe to watch SPIT perform on Thursdays, but never really had the time and the right company to do so. Seeing this as a thrilling spontaneous visit, I was all aboard!

Of course, SPIT never fails to deliver. I love the BRACES BEAUTY PAGEANT sketch, where there's literally ONE board of judges and where the contestants were all game to answer the make-or-break question that went something like: "Paano mo tatanggalin ang tinga sa bibig mo?"

With just 250pesos entrance fee (with a complimentary drink), expect a mouthful of laughs at Commune on Thursdays with SPIT performing. Be careful, baka lang may tinga ka. Enjoy!
